rebirth

Today is the start of my new life.
Today I crossed out the first item on my newly composed to-do list.

After a short bike ride, soaking up the earth and all it's worth, enjoying the not-quite-summer heat, I jumped into my new life.
A wave of exhilaration rushed through me as I ditched my bike near the shed and sprinted through the pool fence. After inhaling a deep breath of spring, I plunged into the depths of our pool. The water, pleasantly pierced my skin, penetrating deep into my pores - opening up. I balanced weightlessly on the water's surface, eyes closed. Today was the end of an era. The end of Cass, the cynical small-town bitch. I've opened my eyes to life, allowing it to encapsulate me at any capacity.

A sudden stirring arose on the deck. A herd of elephants perhaps?
"CASSANDRA'S DROWNING! DON'T WORRY! I'LL SAVE YOU UPON MY MAGICAL PORPOISE!"
Dad broke the surface of the water aboard a blow-up dolphin, plummeting faster than I had into the bluey hole.
Thus was end of my reverie.
